A little better than stock antenna for GMRS

This antenna design is a compromise. I was a bit disappointed to see the SWR higher than advertised on both my meters but the sound quality does seem better than the stock tidradio H3 dual band antenna for GMRS use.

Hi EMC, just a quick note that to properly measure the SWR on these antennas you need to add a counterpoise to your radio to make up for the fact that it's not being held properly in your hand during the test. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szmQmCn1tH4

Poor Fitting on Baofeng UV-5G Plus

I purchased these elsewhere, and subsequently returned them for one reason. When attached to my radio, there was a gap of at least 1/4 inch between the bottom of the antenna, and the base on the radio. The provided gasket didn’t close the gap and create a seal between the two sections, unlike the way the stock short antenna attaches. If there is a way to remedy the problem, I’d repurchase the product.
