The GMRS-50V2 is a 50 Watt GMRS walkie-talkie mobile radio compatible with all brands of FRS and GMRS radios. It is also compatible with GMRS repeaters. Channels are wideband and narrowband compatible. The GMRS-50V2 is also a VHF and UHF scanning receiver capable to add additional channels for receive only (such as NOAA weather and other channels of interest).

Placed the order from my gmrs.com through Govx for the military discount. The product was shipped promptly and arrived in good condition. I plan on using the unit as a base station to communicate between my home and my cabin. I was excited because Btech claims to have great US based customer support. Also, I ordered the RPS 50 power supply for the unit along with the1x Nagoya NMO-200C antenna It's been over 10 days and the items haven't been shipped. Btech has no direct customer phone number so you are stuck with sending an email and waiting on reply. I'm a GMRS newbie, so I'm anxious to get the communication set up.

The radio seems to be good. I like the fact that I can monitor Ham frequencies and FM radio stations. The problems occurred when the cable did not work. Their tech support was sub par. Based on what I saw, I told them it was either the cable or the radio. She told me to Focus on CHIRP. In the end it was the cable. I had to wait a week to get another cable. It works now but will I not recommend BTech because the tech support is sub par.

Easy installation, small in size, color text perfect. I connected radio to a ghost antenna and was able to talk a very long range distance on high and medium power setting. Very pleased with my system.
Seems to be a good radio with exception of mobile noise from power lines. Has great transmitted range with a good antenna but noisy reception. Not sure if caused from antenna but will try a different antenna and see if reception noise becomes less. Great and easy programing. Like many of its features. Operate one as a base radio also. Works great.
