New model! This version features an updated case and a DB-9 Female connector for adding an external controller for linking purposes. You can add this repeater to the myGMRS Network by purchasing a linking bundle or a plug-and-play kit (coming soon).

The Retevis RT97S is an exciting new UHF repeater certified by the FCC for use on GMRS! The Retevis RT97S has FCC ID 2ASNSRT97.

Featuring 8 GMRS repeater channels, a 10W transmitter with a full 5W output power after the duplexer, and a built-in notch duplexer, all you need to do is add an antenna and feedline to get on the air.

Built into a cable TV amplifier box, the RT97S is rugged and water-resistant. Two power adapters come with the repeater, a 12V/24V cigarette lighter plug, and an AC adapter. A USB programming cable is also included to program the repeater to your channel and CTCSS/DCS tones of choice.

The RT97S is ideal for solar-powered repeater sites where low power and a small footprint are required. At such a small portable size, this repeater is perfect for camping trips or emergency preparedness.

Inside the case, there is a small 10W notch duplexer, an LCD display, a DC-DC power adapter, and the integrated radio module itself. This repeater does NOT simply have two handheld radios inside.

* Please note that this connector does not currently feature a discriminator output which is required for an external controller that will do the CTCSS/DCS tone decoding. However, the repeater can be configured to decode the tones internally. We have only tested it with a URIxB repeater interface for use with the myGMRS Network at this time.

Great Little Repeater

My family and I had been seeking a solution for a more reliable way to communicate using GMRS. Line of sight was the main issue. We tried different radios and antenna combinations with little improvement. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the RT 97s. It has exceeded our expectations. No more dead spots or static filled transmissions. It took us less than an hour to set it up and start using it.

Happy in West Texas

Great little unit, super easy to setup. If your around Big Spring TX look us up. We’d love to hear you on the air.

One slight problem

The repeater arrived well packed and works well. However the DC power supply was crushed. I was able to piece it back together with super glue and it works. I don’t anticipate needing to use it, so I’m not to worried about it.

No support

No way to update software and usb drivers from the manufactures website. I cant program the device because I am using windows 11 and the usb drivers that are on this page are not supported. So I have tried to contact the manufacturer and they have not responded. I will give it a few more days then Im returning it. You have to have the programing software to get it going. without being able to program it its useless.
