The Retevis RA-25 is an outstanding radio. I paired it with the Midland low profile GMRS antenna. It gets great reception and transmits very well. I have a newer model hyundai sonata, so its compact form factor is great for my car. The sound is outstanding as well. It is easy to program the radio directly. I actually remove the factory install privacy codes in order to transmit where others could hear me. Chirp will eventually catch up to this radio. I purchased a separate program cable although I have not hooked up to the computer using the download software I will be doing that soon. I purchased a cupholder radio mount on Amazon and the radio. Sits there in my cupholder area perfectly you cannot beat this radio for the money. Love it.
I'm fairly new to radios, so First off, no chirp programing. But using the Retevis software has taught me a lot about programing!! Especially about programing repeaters. It's a good little radio, small and fits nicely in my car. Plenty of power, for me. I gave mygmrs.com heck for slow delivery, but wasn't their fault, and for that I'm sorry, but for some reason it was stuck in Indiana for a week, kind of frustrating. But i got it and it works great. Still learning the radio, and how to do things on it, but it's been fun. So yeah, good little radio.

Simply put, a great radio!
One who knows what they are doing can make this radio useable but it is a tedious struggle. Lines cannot be added for the same frequencies with different tones and global changes have to be performed line by line, window by window. 6 pages of tiny print, you call that an instruction manual? Often, it is wrong!
