RepeaterID Universal Edition

The GMRS and HAM Auto-ID Solution

RepeaterID_U connects to a host handheld that has been configured for a repeater and has a 2-pin Kenwood accessory jack. It listens for activity on the repeater (handheld's audio out) and is able to key up PTT and transmit audio at required intervals. A MicroUSB power supply is not included.

This model is particularly useful for repeaters with complicated or non-existent interfaces, such as the RT97(non-s). It also has other practical applications, such as transmitting a periodic message or announcement for an amateur radio fox hunt exercise.

Compatible with most handhelds that have a Kenwood-style 3.5mm and 2.5mm audio jack where pins are spaced 12mm on center, such as Wouxun, TYT, Retevis, BTECH, and Baofeng. Note that some consumer radios, such as blister pack Midland and Talkabout radios, have slightly different pinouts and spacing.

Note: Some Micro-USB cables are charge-only, meaning they cannot carry data. Such cables will work to power RepeaterID but not to program it.

Please note that a power supply is not included.

Exactly what I have been looking for.

My repeater has ID, but only after traffic. This was easy to install

and works perfectly. I took an old Baofeng, set to low power, battery

save and put the charger on a timer. It charges the phone for four

hours each day and maintains the charge for daily operation.
