Whether you're off-roading, road-tripping, or working on a large farm, this device makes communication effortless. It comes with 30 channels, including 22 GMRS simplex channels and 8 Repeater channels, providing a wide range of options for efficient communication.

The product features a convenient VFO mode that allows for new channel creation without the need for a computer or software. Additionally, the radio can display and switch between two channels at once, and it offers the option to set two desired channels or an emergency channel. Operating the RA87 40W Mobile Radio Repeater-Capable is made easy with no software programming required.

The Retevis RA87 is a powerful GMRS mobile radio that allows for creating a GMRS repeater using a data cable between two RA87 units. With two RA87s acting as a repeater, you can easily extend the range of other GMRS radios. This radio includes GMRS channels, including 8 GMRS repeater channels. Tested for output power up to 40W, the RA87 is a high-power, long-distance mobile or base radio. Additionally, these radios come equipped with a regulated internal power supply for stability and reliability. Ideal for use as a base station, they offer extensive coverage and direct communication with other GMRS radios.

Note: When a pair of RA87s are used as a repeater without a duplexer, the actual power will be reduced by half, and the output will be about 20W-27W. If you do not supply a duplexer, two antennas and two feedlines are required for optimal performance. One RA87 acts as the transmitter, and the other RA87 acts as the receiver.

Good radio

This is a good radio. Took me a while to get used to navigating the interface but it's not hard to figure out. Radio is built well and I got about 35-38w of power out of it. Was easy enough to program, luckily i had another Retevis programming cable so I didnt need to buy one. Retevis support is actually really good for being offshore.

My only gripe with this radio honestly is features. I really wish it could atleast RX other bands and NOAA weather stations. Other much cheaper radios have this functionality built in. My only other 2 grips are, i added some weights to the handset to make it feel a little more premium. Also the startup screen power input reads low. The startup screen welcome message is only 6 characters so you can't even input a full call sign.

Minor things, but for the price of this radio I feel you get way more feature set out of a Radioddigy DB20g which is $40-50 cheaper albeit less powerful.

Data Cable....

They look like nice unit's but can't use them for a repeater yet as I had to order a cable from Retevis in China, I should see it in 2-3 week's. I could not find one in the U.S anywhere that I searched online.
